How can you win all those pub trivia nights yet not know this? :-) A billabong is formed when silt deposits at a bend in a river, changing the flow until a more direct route for the water to flow is eroded away, leaving the original bend cut off (by the silt deposits) from the river and remaining as an isolated billabong! By the way I only just found your website – this is amazing!!!
